MRI BRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST, Jan 06, 2014 03:17:00 PM
COMPARISON: Multiple priors, most recent from 12/5/2013
Multiplanar, multi-sequence MR imaging of the entire brain was performed
before and after intravenous administration of gadolinium-based contrast.
-Calvarium/skull base: No focal marrow replacing lesion suggestive of neoplasm. Status post left frontal craniotomy
-Orbits: Grossly unremarkable.
-Paranasal sinuses: Left maxillary polyp/retention cyst, incompletely imaged.
-Brain: Status post right frontal craniotomy with dural thickening and enhancement subjacent to the craniotomy. There is increasing nodular enhancement along the resection cavity compared to the prior exams. There is also increased gyral thickening surrounding the resection cavity as well as increasing surrounding T2 FLAIR hyperintense signal. No new areas of enhancement are identified. No acute hemorrhage or hydrocephalus. No acute ischemia. Grossly normal flow-related signal in the major intracranial arteries and dural sinuses.
Additional Comments: None
Status post left frontal craniotomy and resection of left frontal lobe tumor. Increased nodular enhancement about the resection cavity with surounding increased gyral thickening and edema compared to exam from 12/5/2013. Findings are concerning for recurrent/residual tumor.
