Radiology – MRI BRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT INFUSION – RADIATIONONCOLOGY

*Final*

MRI BRAIN WITH AND WITHOUT CONTRAST, Aug 29, 2012 03:12:00 PM

ADDITIONAL HISTORY: GBM most recent region therapy in June 2012.

COMPARISON: Prior MR of the brain from 7/6/2012.

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar, multi-sequence MR imaging of the entire brain was performed before and after intravenous administration of gadolinium-based contrast.

FINDINGS:

Calvarium/skull base: Status post left frontal craniotomy. No focal marrow replacing lesion suggest neoplasm identified..

Orbits: Grossly unremarkable.

Paranasal sinuses: Redemonstration of left maxillary sinus retention cyst.

Brain: Status post left frontal approach resection of known GBM.

The susceptibility artifact at the medial aspect of the left frontal lobe in the resection cavity has be decreased in size. The overall areas of T2 signal abnormality surrounding the resection cavity have slightly diminished medially in comparison to prior examination from 7/6/2012 and significantly decreased from prior examination from February 2012. The enhancement surrounding the resection cavity is similar in comparison to prior examination from 7/6/2012. There are no new suspicious areas of enhancement identified. There is no mass effect. There is no new intracranial hemorrhage. No hydrocephalus. No restricted diffusion to suggest acute ischemia. Grossly normal flow-related signal in the major intracranial arteries and dural sinuses.

Additional Comments: None

**********************CONCLUSION*************

1. No MRI evidence to suggest progression of disease.

2. Redemonstration of a left maxillary sinus disease.
