EXAM: MRI of the brain with and without contrast
Clinical history: Brain tumor.
Technique: MRI of the brain was performed both before and following
intravenous administration of 20 ml of Gadolinium. Multiplanar,
multisequential images were obtained.
Findings: Comparison is made to the prior MRl of the brain from
February 28,2010 since the prior study there has been increase in
enhancing portion of the lesion in the left frontal lobe which now
measures 3.4 x 3.4 x 2.9 cm which is increased from 2.7 x 2.5 x 2.5
cm on the prior exam.
In addition there has been increase in the FLAIR abnormality seen associate with the lesion. The FLAIR abnormality measures approximately 7.8 x 4.4 cm increased from 6.6 x 3.6 cm. There is probably also FLAIR abnormality seen in the right medial anterior frontal region. There is no shift herniation. There is no hydrocephalus. The remainder of the study is stable.
Impression: Interval increase in size of both enhancing nonenhancing components of the left frontal neoplasm. There is a vague increased signal in the anteromedial portion of the right frontal lobe as well.
